May Digital SAT Prediction

On May 4th, students nationwide will sit down to take the Digital SAT, marking the second administration of this format in the US. The initial digital SAT caught many students off guard, particularly with its challenging math section. In an effort to better prepare students for the upcoming exam, I’ll be sharing my predictions on what to expect on the May SAT.

Prediction #1

Let’s start by looking back at the March SAT, which many students across the country found exceptionally challenging, particularly the math section. One of the main reasons for this difficulty was the lack of quality practice materials. The College Board tests and the PSAT were simply not adequate for preparing students for the nuances of the digital test format.

With that in mind, my prediction for the May SAT is that it will be equally challenging as the March SAT. To prepare effectively, students should focus on using the right materials. Completing College Board Test 5 and Test 6 in the Blue Book is highly recommended, as these tests provide a much better indication of what the real test will be like.

Prediction #2

Another important prediction is that students who prepare by completing full-time practice tests will perform better on the exam. Many students in March did not realize the importance of completing full-time practice tests, which affected their overall test preparedness.

Prediction #3

Moving on to the math section, my prediction is that while Desmos will be the most useful calculator on the test, not every graph-related question will be solvable by Desmos. It’s crucial for students to have a solid understanding of core math concepts, as there may be questions where they cannot rely solely on Desmos.

Prediction #4

In the English portion of the test, expect to see an emphasis on extremely technical grammar questions. It’s essential to study topics like dangling modifiers, punctuation rules, and transitional words, as these have been prevalent on practice exams.

Prediction #5

Prediction number five focuses on the English section as well, specifically on main point, strength, and weaken questions. I predict that these questions will have confusing, long prompts, so it’s important to take your time to understand the passages and use highlighting tools to focus on the key information.

Prediction #6

Regarding the math section, topics such as the discriminant, function shifts, and exponential growth formulas are likely to appear. It’s crucial to review these topics thoroughly to ensure you’re prepared for the exam.

Preparing for the SAT requires time, effort, and the right strategies. It’s essential to stay positive, use effective strategies, and understand that with the right approach, this test is entirely manageable.
