Why is the month of November important in test prep?
Winter and Spring exams may feel far away, but the planning window closes sooner than most families expect.
The most popular SAT and ACT exams take place between February and April (see our 2026-27 SAT and ACT dates or the official College Board SAT calendar). Many students start preparing right at the start of the new year, or even earlier.
Classes begin at least 4-8 weeks before the test date, and some fill up quickly. Our in-office classes for the March exam often sell out, so families need to register by December 1st.
Students doing private tutoring often put in 2-3 months of weekly sessions before their first exam. Many of our tutors have limited availability by the end of January.
Turning November into KNOW-vember
November gives families the perfect opportunity to learn about these exams, understand how to prepare effectively, and build a plan without scrambling.
That's why Curvebreakers offers free SAT and ACT prep all month long, from a crash course and webinar to practice tests and one-on-one consultations, so families can make smart, confident decisions.
