What to expect

A real conversation about your student

The consultation is a discussion, not a script. Nick listens first, then maps out a plan based on what your student actually needs to reach their goal.

We listen

Share your student's strengths, struggles, schedule, and college goals so the plan fits real life.

We review the data

If your student has taken a practice test, we read the diagnostic together to see what's really driving the score.

We build the plan

You leave with a recommended format, hour count, and timeline mapped to upcoming official exam dates.

No pressure

There's never an obligation to buy. Take the plan and decide on your own time.

The Curvebreakers difference
No one-size-fits-all. Ever.

Tutoring is adapted to each student's needs while enhancing strengths and improving the areas that hold scores back.

Why the consultation matters
Admissions advice is full of noise. Nick helps you sort fact from fiction and focus on what matters for your student.

Between changing test formats, conflicting advice, and tight timelines, it's easy to feel unsure about what your student actually needs. The consultation cuts through that.

Our diagnostic score analysis identifies patterns in a student's practice-test responses, so we understand why questions are missed and don't waste time on material they've already mastered.

Nicholas
LaPoma
Founder & Owner

Known as "Nick The Tutor" on TikTok and beyond. Former litigator turned full-time educator who built Curvebreakers around one belief: every student learns differently.

Who you'll meet

You'll sit down with the owner himself

After starting his career in litigation, Nicholas found his passion in tutoring. He began at one of the large test-prep companies and saw the shortfalls firsthand: canned material and rigid class structures that didn't serve students.

So he built Curvebreakers differently, with an adaptable methodology shaped around each student. When you book a consultation, you're talking to the person who designed the whole approach.

Common questions
Before you book
Is the consultation really free?
Yes. The consultation is complimentary and there's no pressure to purchase a package. You'll leave with a recommended plan and can decide on your own time.
How long does it take?
Plan for about 30 minutes. That's enough time to discuss your student's goals, review any practice-test data, and map out a recommended format and hour count.
Do we need a practice test first?
It helps. A diagnostic gives us real data to work from, and a student's first practice SAT or ACT is free. If you haven't taken one yet, we can still talk through a plan and schedule a diagnostic.
Can the whole family join?
Absolutely. Consultations are designed for parents and students together, so everyone leaves with the same clear understanding of the plan ahead.
Complimentary & no pressure
